- Profile information: details you enter such as date of birth, gender, location, nationality, residency status, marital status, education, profession, religious details (sect, school of thought, religiosity, prayer, etc.), family information, and an "about" description.
- Guardian / wali details: where a profile is managed by or on behalf of someone, the guardian's name, relationship, and contact details you provide.
- Photos: any images you upload to your profile.
- Communications: interests you send or receive, and messages you exchange with other members after connecting.
- Technical data: basic information needed to operate the service securely, such as your login session.
2. How we use your information
- To create and display your profile to other members in line with your settings.
- To provide matchmaking features such as search, compatibility, interests, and messaging.
- To review and approve profiles and photos before they go live, helping keep the community safe and respectful.
- To send you service emails (for example, a new interest, an accepted connection, or a new message).
- To protect members, prevent misuse, and respond to reports or requests for support.
3. What other members can see
Once your profile is approved, the details you enter may be visible to other registered members through search and your profile page. Photos are shown according to your visibility settings and are reviewed before display. Your email address and password are never shown to other members. Please share personal contact details (such as phone numbers) only when you are comfortable doing so.
4. Moderation and safety
To keep NikahEngage a safe and trustworthy space, profiles and photos are reviewed before they become visible, and our team may act on reports of inappropriate behaviour. We encourage family and guardian involvement throughout the process.
5. How we store and protect your information
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information. Passwords are hashed, and access to member data is restricted to authorised administrators for the purposes described in this policy. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to safeguard your data.
6. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. If you delete your account or ask us to remove your data, we will delete or anonymise your personal information, except where we are required to retain certain records.
7. Your choices and rights
- You can edit or update your profile information at any time from your account.
- You can hide your profile or request deletion of your account and data.
